This took roughly half a year to complete.

In case it isn't obvious what this is: Hyocorou remade nearly the entirety of book 1 in this series, re-drawing everything to match his artstyle present in his later works as well as adding a shitload of new content to it, and made some fairly major adjustments to book 2 as well, and then put it all together in a collection. It was available as an actual book for years, but only recently available in Digital form. The Digital differs from the physical version in that it also includes the original, untouched version of book 1, which we decided to translate as well (most of the dialogue from that original version is the same as the remake).

It has probably been the most difficult project I've undertaken as a translator. It's definitely been the project that has given me the most actual headaches and urges to take breaks from working on it. A shitload of work went into this, and I hope it shows.

Crimson initially wanted to simply transplant the existing ancient YQII scripts onto the new remake compilation, but in my infinite wisdom I said that it would probably be better to do a full retranslation (apparently I said this, I don't remember at all). Big respect to YQII, dude's an OG, but man his versions of these books are stilted. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I definitely think what we've got here is the definitive version. Not that that's hard to do, what with the only other English versions being over a decade old at this point.

As stated in the book, this is a compilation of Hyocorou's OreImo books (minus the Absolute Kirino Territory series). YQII originally translated them individually in the past (except for the Saori omake), but no one did the soushuuhen. The compilated work has a redrawn chapter 1 with new art and changes to the script (and in the afterword, Hyocorou says ch. 2 had some changes as well). Finally, the digital version of the compilation included the original chapter 1, so we did both.
